NEW: Walkii’s favorites

As the semester begins we would like to introduce Walkii’s favorite tips, inspirations, quotes, videos and goodies as recommended by our team. Every few months we will create an exclusive list of our teams’ favorites in hopes of sharing with you not only our working process and development, but also the random inspirations that influence our work in Walkii.

Walkii’s developers (Alon and Dor) recommendation: Google Developers Blog

Walkii’s developers believe one of programmers must read is Google’s Developers Blog which aggregates some of the best and most up to date recommendations, tips and tricks for Android developers and should be “frequently viewed by every aspiring programmer” says Dor.

Walkii’s Content editors (Alisa, Amit and Karin) recommendation: Invisions’ blog

Walkii’s content editors use Invision’s blog almost “on a daily basis” says Karin. “We find it extremely helpful not only in terms of knowing what’s new and buzzing in the UX/UI world but also in terms of finding out about the best copyrighting tips for content editors in the field of mobile devices”.

Walkii’s UX/UI designers (Adi and Dana) recommendation: The Design of Everyday Things: Revised and Expanded Edition

Walkii’s UX/UI designers say every designer’s must have book is “The Design of Everyday Things: Revised and Expanded Edition” by Don Norman. According to them “a designer can’t call himself a designer without reading this book first” as it teaches the core understanding of any design process.

Much of Norman's work involves the advocacy of user-centered design. His books all have the underlying purpose of furthering the field of design, from doors to computers. Norman has taken a controversial stance in saying that the design research community has had little impact in the innovation of products, and that while academics can help in refining existing products, it is technologists that accomplish the breakthroughs.
